| Description: |
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), in partnership with the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA), will host the Research That Heals: Partnering with Patients to Transform SCD Care on July 31-August 1, 2025. This 1.5-day hybrid forum will be a crucial platform for engaging directly with the sickle cell community, including patients, caregivers, and patient organizations. The forum aims to discuss and develop solutions to enhance care and improve the quality of life for children and adults living with sickle cell disease (SCD). Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, insights, and suggestions, helping to shape future strategies for SCD research, education, and outreach. The forum will also focus on evaluating the progress made in the field and identifying a collaborative approach for continued improvement. Due to limited seating, we encourage early registration for those who would like to attend in person. Registration is free, and the forum is open to the public. This event will also be videocast and recorded. Date(s)/Time(s): - July 31, 2025: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET
- August 1, 2025: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET
