Description: Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods

This meeting is being co-organized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) and the Interagency Coordinating Committee for the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM). The topic is the development of a Strategic Plan for alternative test methods and strategies to reduce, refine or replace vertebrate animal testing for new and existing industrial chemical substances or mixtures in the U.S. This Strategic Plan is required per Section 4(h)(2) of the amended Toxic Substances Control Act (Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act). The purpose of the meeting is to have a discussion to better inform the development of the Strategic Plan; it is not to reach consensus or conclusions or to collaborate in any way.
