On March 31, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will host a dedication ceremony and scientific symposium to celebrate the completion of the John Edward Porter Neuroscience Research Center, a state-of-the-art building designed to bring together neuroscientists from ten institutes and centers at the NIH. The dedication will feature remarks by NIH Director Francis S. Collins, Ph.D., and former Congressman John Edward Porter, for whom the Neuroscience Research Center is named, along with Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL), Story C. Landis, Ph.D., Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and two former institute directors who were integral in developing the vision for the building. More than 500 people are expected to attend the dedication and symposium.
