||Dr. Jim Cimino will provide an overview of the Biomedical Translational Research Information System (BTRIS). This session will include an overview of how BTRIS can help researchers manage data for active clinical trials, and demonstrate how to file automated ClinicalTrials.gov reports.
A new tool using deidentified data will also be introduced. What can this new tool do for you? Have you ever asked the question … show me lab values for all the subjects that have “X” diagnosis, and have taken “X” medication? For the first time, the NIH community will be able to access clinical research data from 1976 to the present across 480,000 subjects to pose hypotheses and generate new research ideas! This new BTRIS application includes an automated “Exempt Research” certification from the NIH Office of Human Subjects Research.
If you are an NIH clinical investigator and have questions about how your data will be accessed and used in BTRIS, the Town Hall will provide a forum for answering your questions about NIH data use policies.
