He has studied racial and ethnic, and socioeconomic influences on patterns of care, and the impact of major diseases on disparities in life expectancy. Dr. Shapiro is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians. He is a past president of Society of General Internal Medicine. |
