Description: This workshop will review and assess the state of the evidence on breast cancer risk factors associated with pregnancy, including those associated with spontaneous and induced abortion, to identify gaps in the knowledge-base, and suggest new opportunities for interdisciplinary studies that would fill these gaps.

Participants will review the epidemiological, biological, molecular, and hormonal relationships of pregnancy that alter breast cancer risk. Specifically, this meeting will look at the following aspects of breast cancer:

- An overview of basic breast cancer development in both rodent and human models

- Underlying scientific understanding of how hormones influence breast cancer risk and possible mechanistic pathways using new molecular markers

- New technology and molecular tools that will help advance our understanding of breast cancer
