The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at NIH and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) have joined together to co-sponsor a National Conference titled “Advances in Cholesterol Management: Putting the New National Cholesterol Education Program Guidelines into Practice.” The conference will describe the main features of the new National Cholesterol Education Program Guidelines in the Third Report of the Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (ATP III) and the scientific evidence base underlying them.
