Description:	Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series NIH Director's Lecture Dr. Fair is the Redleaf Endowed Director of the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain at the University of Minnesota, and he also is a professor in the Institute of Child Development and in the Department of Pediatrics there. His research focuses on mechanisms and principles that underlie the developing brain, in which he uses functional MRI and resting state functional connectivity MRI to assess typical and atypical populations. The Fair Lab additionally tests the feasibility of using various functional and structural MRI techniques in translational studies of developmental neuropsychiatric disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism. The lab explores ways to better characterize individual patients with these psychopathologies to help guide diagnostic, therapeutic, and genetic studies.
