NHLBI will host a one-day conference on August 25, 2000, as a satellite symposium to the International Society of Hypertension 18th Scientific Meeting. The conference is entitled, "Hypertension: From Gene to Community."
The co-chairmen are Dr. Lenfant and Dr. Cutler. In addition to a keynote talk by Dr. Lenfant, the conference will highlight nine speakers covering the broad spectrum of hypertension research and its application in which NHLBI has major involvement, from molecular genetics to public health and
including integrative physiology, medical treatment, and social and behavioral aspects. The conference should be of interest to a diverse audience of academic generalists and practitioners in areas related to hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases.
