Description:	Molecular network approaches are well suited to studying the architecture and function of the synapse proteome. The synapse proteome comprises ~1000 proteins which are amenable to genomic, genetic and proteomic approaches. As a paradigm we have studied the NRC, a 185 protein subset of the synapse proteome. The NRC comprises the 2-3 MDa protein complexes of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) subtype of glutamate receptor , Post Synaptic Density 95, signalling proteins and other proteins that reside in the postsynaptic terminal.
