Surveys via in-person interviews, telephone interviews, and mail questionnaires have been a traditional mainstay in the behavioral and social sciences for many decades. Vast technological and societal changes are driving inevitable change in the world of health research data collection. The past decade has seen an extraordinary expansion in the range of new technologies being applied in survey research. The Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBBSR) is sponsoring a one-day methodology workshop for program and review officers and other interested NIH scientific staff who are engaged in evaluating research that features new survey technologies and methodologies. The goal of the workshop is to equip NIH staff with up-to-date information to use in evaluating the quality of health research involving emerging, non-traditional survey methodologies. We have invited experts in survey methodology and technology to bring these topics to life for a day of lively presentation and interactive discussion.Topics to be covered:
