Dr. Susan Bookheimer, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA, has used fMRI and other brain imaging techniques to investigate the neural bases of language function and memory in normal subjects. She also applied these methods to examine epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and neurodevelopmental disorders. Her work has included integrating invasive brain mapping methods such as intraoperative electrocorticography and Wada
testing with activation imaging results to better understand the organization of language/memory in the brain.
