||The Director's Council of Public Representatives (COPR) offers a public forum for discussing such key NIH issues as priority setting, clinical trials and managed care, privacy and genetics, and health disparities among various populations. COPR members will review and advise on NIH priorities and mechanisms for public input to NIH decisions.
The primary roles of the COPR are:
1. to bring public views to NIH activities, programs and decision-making;
2. to convey information about NIH's processes and progress to an even broader public outside the Agency; and
3. to look at NIH operations and help the Agency evaluate performance. This group has the potential to have a significant impact upon how NIH operates and makes decisions across a broad spectrum of activities and programs.
