As a result of the terrorist attacks on America, Homeland Security (HLS) issues have become a top priority for all federal, state, and local government agencies. Bioterrorism preparedness rests in large part on the ability of the public health establishment to perform and protect. The NIH HLS Symposium will help Government officials learn how to improve our nation's surveillance network by sharing information and resources through state-of-the-art computer systems, and incorporating more cutting edge IT equipment and services to detect and prevent terrorist attack.
