Description: Rates of maternal disease and death (called maternal morbidity and mortality) are rising in the United States. How can communities inform research on maternal morbidity and mortality? Join NICHD and members of community-based and healthcare provider groups for a discussion about community engagement strategies to improve maternal health. Forum attendees will 1) Learn how patient-provider interactions and the process for making clinical care decisions affect maternal healthcare experiences. 2) Discuss opportunities and challenges that communities, healthcare providers, researchers, and policy leaders should consider for improving community-engaged research to address maternal morbidity and mortality at local levels. ‚Äč
