Description: Chronic inflammation is commonly accepted as an initiator of different human diseases. Several studies have demonstrated a strong correlation between chronic pro-inflammatory state and the development of a disease including malignant transformations, blood vessel and brain disorders, and degenerative diseases. Despite continued studies on causes of inflammation and inflammation-associated biomarker discovery and the association between inflammation and diseases, further inquiry is needed to develop further understanding of this condition and its progression to the disease state.

This workshop brings together experts from multiple research disciplines in different disease areas who are investigating chronic inflammation and its role in disease development. The goal of this workshop is to assess current findings, state-of-the-art techniques and enabling technologies for deeper insight into disease-promoting inflammation. Participants will examine needs, challenges and assess approaches that can improve accuracy in gauging an individual’s inflammation status associated with impending diseases or disease resolution through comprehensive multidisciplinary strategies.
