Description: Jonathan Polimeni is a research fellow in the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at MGH. He received his PhD degree (Computational Neuroscience) from Boston University in 2007 where he developed computational models of conformal visuotopic maps within visual cortex based on experimental human fMRI data. Currently he works on developing novel techniques for acquiring isotropic 3D FMRI data with 7T and highly parallel encoding techniques such as echo volume imaging. The overall goal of this work to be able to functionally resolve laminar and columnar structures using FMRI in the human brain.
