Her new book, "Betrayal of Trust: The Collapse of Global Public Health", provides a chilling exploration of the crisis that threatens public health around the world. Her reporting has taken her to India during the pneumonic plague, to Zaire during the Ebola virus epidemic, and to the former Soviet Socialist Republics.
