Description: Unbelievable progress has been made in the last two decades in the fight against HIV/AIDS, yet there's still so far to go. Dramatic advances in treatment have resulted in children born with the virus living into their teens, while at the same time there has been an alarming surge of HIV infection rates among adolescents, particularly female adolescents and urban minorities. Dr. Wood will discuss some of the positive and negative milestones reached to date, including advances in care and research, as well as the changing epidemiology of the HIV epidemic.

Dr. Lauren Wood Senior Clinical Investigator, HIV & AIDS Malignancy Branch National Cancer Institute.
