Description: The public workshop, hosted by the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, will begin at 1 p.m. on May 30, immediately following the adjournment of the NIH Pain Consortium Symposium and will conclude on May 31 at 5 p.m. It will include a discussion of the available data on the efficacy of analgesics in the treatment of chronic noncancer pain (CNCP). The focus of the presentations and discussions by scientific experts and other stakeholder groups will be on the available clinical data from both randomized clinical trials and other studies of the efficacy of opioid analgesics, and comparison of that data to the data from studies of nonopioid analgesics used in the treatment of CNCP
