She joined NYU in 2016 upon a distinguished 20-year research career at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital\, where she specialized in the clinical investigation and treatment of panic disorder\, social anxiety\, post-traumatic stress disorder\, and complicated grief.\n\nThis presentation will focus on the impact of the COVID pandemic and exposure to COVID-related deaths on mental health with a focus on anxiety\, stress\, trauma\, and loss. Topics covered will include a discussion of the pandemic as a major life stressor\; what is known about its impact on stressor-related conditions\; COVID pandemic-specific factors that increase risk for negative mental health outcomes after death or loss exposures\; and risk factors and approaches to support mental wellness after death of a loved one.
