Abstract:	(CIT): X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP) is a primary immunodeficiency characterized by severe immune dysregulation trigged or exacerbated by infection with Epstein Barr Virus infection. XLP is caused by mutations affecting a small adaptor molecule SAP. Studies of SAP-deficient mice have revealed newly appreciated phenotypes of XLP including defects in germinal center formation and development of innate T lymphocytes. Further studies in SAP-deficient mice suggest that the diverse phenotypes of XLP are linked to a common mechanism involving defective interactions between T and B lymphocytes.
