Description: The NSABB was established to advise on oversight of dual use life sciences research, defined as biological research that generates information and technologies that could be misused to pose a biological threat to public health and other aspects of national security. The December 3 meeting will focus on the introduction of new NSABB voting members, federal responses to NSABB reports, activities of the Working Groups on Outreach and Education and on International Engagement, and synthetic biology and the NSABB draft report on biosecurity issues raised by synthetic biology.
