Description: The HHS Office on Disability Symposium on Homeownership for Persons with Disabilities co-sponsored with HUD, Fannie Mae, CMS and NIH. Its purpose is: 1)understand the varying perspectives on how homeownership can occur at the State/local level; and 2)help all consumers/national disability constituent organizations understand the role each has in supporting membership ability to advocate for and/or sponsor homeownership. Panelists will provide States’ best practices and lessons learned, followed with questions by in person and remote viewers. The Symposium’s sponsors are committed to working together to reduce barriers/facilitate homeownership including addressing questions raised after the Symposium.
