Description:	The Louis Stokes Laboratories, NIH Building 50, is a new six-story building that will house advanced scientific projects conducted by at least 9 of the NIH Institutes and Centers. The building is named after The Honorable Louis Stokes, a former representative of Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives, an enthusiastic supporter of biomedical research, and a champion for eliminating health disparities in the nation's minority, poor, underserved, and disadvantaged communities. Hosted by the NIH Office of the Director, the National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders, the National Cancer Institute, the National Human Genome Research Institute, the National Eye Institute, and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
