Description: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) will provide a live Web cast of the opening session of the Tenth Anniversary Meeting of International Centers for Tropical Disease Research (ICTDR). Researchers from around the world will be attending the 3-day event, which will celebrate a decade of ICTDR accomplishments in diagnosing, treating, and preventing tropical diseases. The highlight of the opening session will be NIAID Director Anthony S. Fauci’s unveiling of the NIAID Global Health Research Plan for HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Tuberculosis. The report outlines the Institute’s plans for fighting three critical infectious diseases by building sustained research capability and enhancing international partnerships.
