CIT can broadcast your seminar, conference or meeting live to a world-wide
audience over the Internet as a real-time streaming video. The event can
be recorded and made available for viewers to watch at their convenience
as an on-demand video or a downloadable podcast. CIT can also broadcast
NIH-only or HHS-only content.
This day-long grant writing overview will happen in two parts.
Part 1: Understanding Grant Writing 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. This part will help you understand the process of grant writing. Topics will include finding funding opportunities (including NIH training and career awards),understandaing the NIH grant process, and an insight into the peer-review process.
Part 2: Writing a Grant Application 1:00 - 4:00 pm. This second part will help you understand how to write a competitive grant application including a discussion of the major components of research, training and career development grants. Topics include strategies for writing grants, developing your specific aims and responding to grant reviews.
This workshop is intended to provide the background, fellows need to begin crafting a grant application; it does not involve written assignments of feedback on drafts of applications. You are welcome to attend only one or both sessions.
