Description: This celebratory symposium will offer an exciting glimpse into contemporary genomics research, illustrating how genomics can be used to further medical discoveries and how genomics relates to individuals, communities and societies. Speakers will include NIH Director Francis Collins and major leaders in genomics, including Eric Lander and Maynard Olson. The event will also include a panel discussion, “Exploring Your Genetic Blueprint,” moderated by the Genetic Alliance’s Sharon Terry and including James D. Watson, which will explore what it means for an individual to have their genome sequenced.
