Description:	Dr. Jane Lian from the University of Massachusetts Medical School will speak on “New Dimensions of Transcriptional Control in the Skeleton,” in the Lipsett Amphitheater, Bldg. 10. Her talk is part of NIDCR’s seminar series “From Basic Research to Therapy—The Latest Frontier” (http://www.nidcr.nih.gov/NewsAndFeatures/Announcements/NewSeminarSeries.htm). Dr. Lian is a leader in the fields of bone biology and connective tissue disorders. Her work has contributed to our current understanding of the molecular events that control normal and abnormal skeletal development and cancer metastasis to bone. Dr. Lian will discuss her recent research targeting transcriptional and epigenetic factors as well as microRNAs for treating conditions such as osteoporosis and genetic disorders that affect craniofacial bone.
