Open Science: The Transparency Revolution

Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 9:00:00 AM, 7 hours.

Description: The primary goal of the festival is to explore the open science movement through presentations on open access, open systems/software, and open data. As the government strives for transparency and engagement, the NIH also seeks to enhance reproducibility in research. The open science movement holds that transparent science is better science. By sharing data early on, rather than post-publication, researchers have a huge opportunity for collaborative models of discovery. The festival will feature presentations by subject matter experts from government agencies, academia, and non-profit organizations.
