Description: Dr. Horton studies the organization of the visual system in both humans and non-human primates. He has made a number of important discoveries that relate to the fine-scale anatomical organization of visual cortex, and how these relate to physiological processing of visual signals. He has used this range of tools to improve our understanding of how early binocular experience changes the anatomical and functional organization of the visual cortex, and how this relates to strabismus and amblyopia, in both human subjects and animal models.
