Description:	Professor Shokat received his Ph.D. in 1991 from UC Berkeley and completed post-doctoral work at Stanford in 1994 when he moved to Princeton University as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Molecular Biology becoming a tenured Associate Professor in 1998. In 1999, Shokat moved to the Bay Area where he is jointly a Full Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at UC San Francisco and Full Professor of Chemistry at UC Berkeley.
