Description:	In this lecture I will address the role of transcription factors in setting up specific cellular programs. The emphasis will be the functional significance of a specific class of transcription factors, Pax4 and Pax6 in the differentiation of the islets of Langerhans and the possibility to utilize these factors in the regeneration of insulin-producing B-cells.
